Our goal is to have an easySTP in every new house, improving public health and reducing environmental impact, similar to our earlier success with clean drinking water.
I came into the water treatment business in the year 2000 and introduced the novel concept of bulk pure water selling in 20 litre cans in Fluoride affected areas. Over the next 5 years, that concept caught up and every village had many people selling bulk pure water. The impact was so great that today every household in most villages drink only RO pure water. The health benefit from this can't be quantified but must have been huge.
Lack of Sewage treatment infrastructure is a major hurdle in india. It is impacting everybody’s health adversely. It may be noted that 70% of human diseases are water borne. Existing sewage treatment technologies are not sustainable due to the lack of human capital and shortage of trained manpower.
I wanted to create an impact in sewage treatment similar to the one I created in Drinking Water. I Searched world extensively. Found a hugely successful process called ‘Johkasou’ from Japan. It is so successful that every houldhold in Japan that is not connected to Municia; sewers has its own sewage treatment plant ‘Johkasou’. With the ‘Johkasou’ the momentum shifts to the point of generation of individual treatment from centralised treatment making it highly sustainable.
A small country like Japan by the end of 2021 has over 80 lakh ‘Johkasou’ treatment plants installed. So I started manufacturing Johkasou under the brand name ‘easySTP’ by the end of 2017. In the next 4 years I stalled over 100 easySTPs and slowly ironed out the small problems that come while adopting a new technology. Now we are poised for skyrocketing growth.
My vision is to see an easySTP installed in every new house that is being built in every metro city in India. Towards this end we are setting up a new factory and starting a sewage academy to train manpower required to sell, install, maintain and inspect easySTP plants. We have plans to come up with a SME-IPO in the third quarter of 2025-26 to fund this expansion. We have started growing our manufacturing capability and selling and servicing capacity. We are aggressively onboarding new channel partners in every state capital.
